Bicycles: The Main Transportation for Kyoto Students

  • Buy a used bicycle: 5,000-15,000 yen at a recycle shop or from a graduating senpai
  • Mandatory registration (防犯登録): 600 yen, done at the time of purchase. This is to prevent theft.
  • Parking: Illegal parking can result in a fine (2,300 yen). Park in designated areas.
